Notes on video (VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray): Region 1 (R1) and NTSC formatted items play on North American DVD players, Blu-Ray players, VCRs and TVs, and they generally are available primarily from North American shops. Region 2 (R2) and PAL formatted items play on European DVD players, Blu-Ray players, VCRs and TVs, and they generally are available primarily from European shops. (Also, Blu-Ray discs only play on Blu-Ray players -- they do not play on standard DVD players.) Notes on audio: CDs and audio cassettes will play on equipment from any country regardless of what country the CD or cassette is from. (In other words, there are no format issues to deal with when shopping.)
