June 4, 2011: Encouraging news regarding To Appomattox
It now looks like the odds are extremely good that Helen and Damian will both be taking part in To Appomattox. The producers of To Appomattox were recently asked whether everyone shown on the cast list at the To Appomattox official site has agreed to do the project, or if it is a "dream cast." The producers responded as follows: "Every single one of them has personally agreed and is commited to these roles. Many of them sought out the project .... Since many of them have other commitments, scheduling this is quite a task. Fortunately, since we're using one director we can block shoot their parts across the entire series in concentrated segments. Also, as being on opposing armies and further divided by Eastern and Western theaters, they don't all work together all the time. So far, it's planning out quite nicely."

May 29, 2011: Details firming up for To Appomattox
Although casting has not yet been confirmed for To Appomattox, so we still do not know for certain whether Helen and/or Damian will take part in this project, other details are firming up. First, the producers have confirmed that pre-production will now begin in February 2012, and the filming location for exterior scenes has been narrowed down to the following locations (ultimately just one of these will be selected): Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina or Tennessee. As for the national US television network to present the mini-series, that choice has been narrowed down to three possibilities. The ongoing negotiation process prevents the producers from publicly revealing the three networks in contention, but they have clarified that HBO is not among them. Lastly, the producers have confirmed that the mini-series will be presented during the summer of 2013 as originally planned, to coincide with the 150th Anniversaries of Gettysburg and Vicksburg.

A new report from KIKN radio indicates that filming on To Appomattox will likely begin this summer or autumn, rather than this spring.
