It's so long since the first version took television by storm most people think John Galsworthy wrote The Forsyte Saga in black and white, but this stunning new version puts all that straight. Damian Lewis plays the cold, materialistic Soames, uncrowned head of the vast Forsyte clan, and Gina McKee is Irene, the sensitive but destitute beauty he bullies into marriage.
