Things are definitely hot and heavy between Sex And The City's Kristin Davis and her newest beau, Band Of Brothers star Damian Lewis.

The brunette beauty, whose previous liaisons include Jeff Goldblum and Alec Baldwin, met the handsome actor last September at a swanky party HBO threw following the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Friends say it was love at first sight, and the couple has been inseparable ever since.

As for marriage, Davis, 38, is quick to throw cold water on rumors that she'll be tying the knot anytime soon. "In the South there's a lot of focus on marriage, and maybe I saw it wasn't all it was cracked up to be," says the actress, who grew up in South Carolina after her mother and father divorced when she was a toddler. She even adds, "I'm not so determined to get to the altar."

Ironically, as prim-and-proper Charlotte York on the popular HBO series, Davis has made two trips down the aisle. In her first TV marriage, she tied the knot with a Park Avenue physician who turned out to be a sexually dysfunctional mamma's boy.

For her second stab at holy matrimony, Charlotte converted to Judaism to marry her very bald and very passionate Jewish divorce lawyer.

But in real life she says, "I don't have that strange fantasy Charlotte has about how you have a beautiful wedding and then everything is fabulous."

But she concedes that a real-life wedding is a possibility. "If someone I was in love with really wanted to get married, maybe I would, but I would never want a big white wedding and all that stuff."

And friends say if that does happen, Damian Lewis could be the one.

"He's a sweetie," gushes Davis. "He's incredibly sweet and charming. He knows how to deal with things."

In the HBO miniseries Band Of Brothers, the rugged 32-year-old English actor won rave reviews for his portrayal of Maj. Richard Winters, a heroic American army officer who parachuted into France on D-Day and bravely led his company of soldiers acros northern Europe and into Germany.

Meanwhile, filming of the final episodes of Sex And The City wraps up next month, and Davis reveals that she plans to take up residence in London.

Says a source, "She's hoping to head for the West End, following in the footsteps of Nicole Kidman and Kathleen Turner."
