Power presents a major new 4-hour event mini-series. Colditz is a powerful wartime epic. Produced by Power and Granada for ITV, this fresh take on the Colditz story promises gripping drama.

Maximum security camp, Colditz Castle, contained every persistent escaper captured by the Germans. With as many guards as prisoners, Colditz was considered escape-proof; it wasn't. With the most experienced prisoners pooling a wealth of talent and inventiveness, Colditz became the greatest escape academy of the war. This exciting drama combines thrilling and heroic escapes with a touching yet fated love story, as it follows the fate of three young officers.

A fantastic cast is headed by Damian Lewis (Band Of Brothers), Sophia Myles (Thunderbirds), Tom Hardy (Black Hawk Down), Jason Priestley (Beverly Hills 90210), Lawrence Fox (Gosford Park), James Fox (Sexy Beast) and Timothy West (The Story Of Joan Of Arc).

Inspired by Henry Chancellor's book Colditz and directed by leading film maker Stuart Orme (The Lost World), this is the second co-production with Granada after the successful Henry VIII.
