The Forsyte Saga (ITV 1, Sunday) made a name for itself last weekend by beating Big Brother in the ratings. The first series didn't do as well as expected, faced with strong competition from Auf Wiedersehen, Pet on BBC 1 but the second series looks like a winner. Damian Lewis is the out-and-out star, with his understated style and cutting looks. Soames is a replete baddie and is well served by Lewis, now one of our best actors. The Forsyte Saga is one of the most expensive period dramas mounted by ITV and it shows. More of the same, please.
